a spherical area
on the head
with a ring of hair around it,
resembling a pale moon,
with hair as the darker sky.

Shaggy God story

a pair of astronauts 
landing on a lush and 
virgin world.
the creation of a miniature
universe in a laboratory
by a scientist whose name
turns out to be an anagram
of Shaggy.

Kentucky meat shower

a farmer’s wife was making soap
on her porch when a piece of meat
fell from the sky. She took it
as a sign from God, 
said it was snowing meat.
a grocer in the area stated that
the smell was offensive
to the extreme, like that of
a dead body.

Idiot plot

kept in motion
slowly in virtue
of the fact that everybody
involved is an idiot,

and where the story would
quickly end,
or possibly not even happen,
if this were not the case.
